The Rune of Earth Person

I am the Soil, and the Soil is me.

The Rune of Earth Person. Shows a human being that is connected to the soil. Showing the roots and where he came from.

Labels, labels, and more labels. Sometimes I think that everything I am is labels. Labels I have taken from my parents, siblings, friends, social media, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or any other series or movies. Basically, The Culture of Society. One thing is constant: that everything changes. The one thing that is solid is that nothing is truly solid. How "solid" is a rock, when you look deeply enough into it with a microscope? Allowing change to happen without putting my need for it not to change on top of it is, I believe, living with acceptance and accordance with Nature. Accepting that labels change and new ideas form. And correcting course when I see and understand that where I went was not beneficial to my own evolution.

The Non-Solid and The Solid

Change has happened within me, and a more universal "true label" or identity has risen from the Fire of Transformation. First, I want to say that what we all might be is the non-solid part of existence. The space between the atoms of the rock. That maybe that is where we all come from. A place without any labels, identities, or any solidity. A place with an eternal floating or falling sensation. A place where time does not exist as we know it, and where nothing "happens." No bad or good, but just existence. Very, very abstract, and not very grounded or something we as humans can sense with our bodies. I am using the words "might" and "maybe," because I do not have direct experience of this myself. It is all ideas and concepts I have gathered up during my life, through people that have inspired me, through books I have read, and my own reflections and experiences.

But, just think a little about it. Being non-solid or non-label is kinda boring in the long run. If you had eternity to be nothing, would it come a point where you got so bored of the nothingness and wanted to experience the "somethingness"? Have you ever tried to lie in bed for a whole day, doing nothing? My experience says that there is a point where a huge energy fills me up, which says, "Go do something." This voice or energy, I believe, is the non-solid wanting to express itself as the solid. Or God expressing itself as Human. So, the thought is that we all created the most amazing idea. The idea was to choose to become solid or label. Which is where we all are now.

It can further be said that the label or solid is needed to experience the non-solid or non-label. To make it more grounded. Stress is needed to experience rest. Night is needed to experience day. Hunger is needed to experience feeling full. Not knowing is required to know.

But if what we truly are is the non-solid or non-label, what about the solid or label? Are we one or the other, or is it possible to be both at the same time? I believe that we are both at the same time. For me, this thinking is a little difficult to grasp because I am living in relativity and duality, but let us see if we can create some more clarity and understanding with examples.

The Necessity of Duality

Exercise is (I hope) something everyone is doing or has done. To experience exercising, we need to have the energy to exercise, and also feel that the energy is used up during the exercise. And later feeling tired or that the muscles are used. In the end, having some days to heal and recover energy. Here is the question I wonder about: Would it be possible to experience exercise if we had unlimited energy? The simple fact that we do not have unlimited energy (the non-solid), but limited energy (the solid), creates the conditions for us to actually exercise.

What is required for the sun to rise? Well, it also has to set. If the earth did not spin, but one part always faced the sun, and say we lived on the side that faced the sun, then we would have no concept and understanding of day and night. We would maybe even not know what day is. Because we would have no way of measuring it against something else. Namely non-day or night. It is the spinning of the earth that creates the conditions for us to experience day and night.

Let us use another example. Say you feel hungry and create a beautiful and nutritional meal. You eat and feel the hunger slowly fading, being replaced with a feeling of being full and satisfied. Would it be possible to experience "feeling full and satisfied" without the hunger? Let us say that we eradicated the ability to feel hunger in the body. Would we also at the same time remove the ability to feel full and satisfied? Well, if I never got hungry, then I also believe that I at the same time would not feel the satisfaction of eating food to satisfy that hunger. That would be kinda boring, would it not? I am not saying that we should not eradicate hunger and malnutrition in the world, which is something we truly should do. I am trying to make it clear that without the ability to feel hunger, then at the same time we also would not feel the satisfaction of eating and feeling full.

One last example, because everything that is good is made up of trees... or rather, three. I am learning to become a market gardener to live a more seasonal and regenerative life, but also to produce something which I believe is very important in our time and age. Community, healthy soil, and food. Or let us say that you feel inspired to learn the guitar to play around a roaring bonfire at the celebration of Beltane, the start of summer. Me being a professional market gardener, and you being a rock star on the guitar, requires a starting point of not being a professional market gardener and super epic mantra rock star guitar player. Going from not knowing and being, towards knowing and being. So my reflection lands on that it is necessary to not know how to play the guitar, to know how to play it.

What about our concepts of good and evil?

But, Elmod! Why even talk about this? First, I find enormous joy from talking about "Ultimate Reality" and "Esoteric" ideas. That is, I feel, a good enough reason to do it. Second, I write about it to create more clarity within myself, because I genuinely find it fascinating to understand how the world works and functions. Thirdly, I believe that exploring What We Really Are and Where We Come From can help hugely in our collective harmonic living experience.

The Rule of Soil

I have developed "The Rule of Soil," which says the following: "If you cannot touch it, taste it, or feel it in your body—bring it back to the garden." Which is a grand reminder of not floating too far away in concepts, thoughts, and ideas. A good philosopher lives what he talks about, and that is important for me. To live in integrity with what I am sharing.

The Green Thread

I once had an epiphany of my connection to the Earth. I was exploring where I came from and what I really am, and I thought about how I was born. I started as an egg in my mother, which with help from my father started the growing process. During the process, my mother was eating food, which got broken down into parts and used in the creation of me. The food came from plants and animals, and in the end, the Earth. Tracing it further back, the soil is part of millions of years of evolution and a partnership between the Sun and the Earth. Plants get their energy from the Sun. The plants die and leave the Sun's energy in the soil. Even the Sun is born and created from other objects. My epiphany happened when I saw a beautiful green thread which looked like this: Sun → Earth → Soil → Plants and Animals → Mom → Me. When the body I have dies, then it also goes back to the soil. Being a part of an ongoing, living, and breathing ecosystem that is Mother Earth. If we created a circle of the cycle of Mother Earth, we could write it as this: Soil → Plants and Animals → Mom → Me → Soil. This visualization is very basic, but for me it stands to serve a point. Which is that I AM COMING FROM THE SOIL. And that I am the soil, but in another form. This also means that I am you reading this, and you are me that writes these words, because we all come from the same place. We All Are Mother Earth. This is the grand remembrance which I feel deeply in my stomach is really needed in our time. What we do to the soil is directly linked and connected to our wellbeing. Fill the ocean with heavy metals, fills the fish with heavy metals, and in the end fills us with heavy metals. Pollute the soil, and the pollution in the end cycles back to us. Is this something we want, and does it really create the conditions for a heart to open up and a body to feel grounded to the Earth?

The Earth Person

We are all Children of Mother Earth. Earth Children or Earth Persons. This is my new "true label." Elmod the Earth Person. We all are Earth Persons, and truly I believe that we are also one Earth Family. The only thing that stands in our way is the thought that says otherwise. If this resonates with you, I invite you to also call yourself "An Earth Person." With the understanding that it still is a label, but maybe it is a label that we all can gather around and finally again dance around the roaring fire with.
